In the Book of Genesis, the first chapter states that GOD turned chaos into order through speech and intellect.
In the still darkness of space, GOD spoke through intellect that which was not in existence into objects of existence. HE created something from nothing. If we consider that the third object spoken into existence was simply light or the creation of the sun, then a broader concept is missed. Yes, the sun produces light which is the source of warmth, photosynthesis, and illumination. And the sun is a tangible object however, what is often overlooked is the intangible substance of intellect used by GOD. Therefore, “let there be light” ought to remind us of the intangible mind as forementioned. The duality of light is darkness. Darkness is, if considering what GOD did in the beginning, placing order from chaos, producing life from stillness, and generating in mankind a brain to reason and for reflective thought.
Reason can also be summed up through the construct of enlightenment. I surmise that the third verse in the Book of Genesis was produced to provide a deeper contemplation of the human mind and the filling of billions upon billions of synapsis that occupy sub-atomic space in our computer system with rational thought and exploration not just the world of creation. But also, our capacity he created in us to absorb knowledge as HIS creation. Hence, enlightenment means greater insight into the world we occupy.
GOD gave us the ability to enlighten our minds by pushing past our biases, seeking to understand, and be understood, comprehending topics that stretch and challenge our perceptions or preconceived notions. Failing to become enlightened reduces the strength of the connections in the brain and atrophies cognition keeping one in darkness and chaos the opposite of a new perspective.
